What in the world is mindfulness? Is it a hippy dippy new age meditation thing? No…kinda…not really. What it ACTUALLY is? A simple but powerful practice that we Christian women can use to bring more peace into our stressful lives. It’s being more aware of the present moment, instead of stuck in our heads imagining worse case scenarios. I will give you a fleshed-out definition, but I’ll also demonstrate and give lots of examples.
Ligia (“Lia”) Allison is a Christian wife, mom, and therapist who loves helping relieve the stressors women, children and their families face in this secular world. She has a particular interest in adoptive families and reunifying children with their estranged parents. In her free time, she loves to sing and host karaoke parties with her husband. She also loves to sew and watch reality competition shows (Top Chef, anyone?) with my sons and three pooches.
